Abby Balderas
Captain Abby spent 25+ years as a Baywatch Rescue Boat captain/and paramedic for LAcoFD, as well as serving as an Ocean Lifeguard. His Baywatch career took him to Catalina Island for several years as well as covering the beaches from Zuma beach to Cabrillo Beach. During that time, he took a break to be a Naval Aviator and Navy officer before returning to his Baywatch career.
After retirement he opened Boat Ops Academy and The Naples Island Boat Club. During that time teaching close to 500+ professional and recreational boat operators. He carries several certificates including a 100 ton Coast Guard Master License, ASA sailing and National Safe Boating Council power boat Instructor certificates.
Abby enjoys sailing catamarans in the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas, surfing, and waterskiing with his beautiful wife Jamie, three grown children, Kimo, Kalani and Kelly and their husky “Chester”.
