Howard C. “Skip” Larson
I am a native Californian who grew up in the desert areas of Southern California. Upon graduating from Cal Poly SLO with a BS in Animal Science, I went to work in the produce business and spent the next sixty years in the agriculture business. The last 25 years before retirement in 2015 was in the strawberry plant business with Sierra Cascade Nursery, Inc. If you recognize the Driscoll label, well, they were our largest customer.
I have been married to my wonderful wife Janice for almost 59 years and looking forward to the 60 milestone. Our family is a daughter Krista and her husband Dave who have a daughter Aurielle. Our son Kevin has a son Justin and a daughter Leanza. All have been involved in “Kid’s day” from the early stages when there were just a few people and watched it grow to where it is now. Wow! What a joy it is to see how many lives are being touched by this event and watch the faces of the kids having a great time that they wouldn’t get without the “Kid’s Day”. Thanks to the many who have assisted to make this a memorable experience for the attenders.
